MORE ON OUR YOUTH PROGRAM
All new students begin in the Entry Level classes where they learn basic blocking, striking, and self-defense techniques in a structured and fun atmosphere. The Entry Level class is designed to provide the foundation on which the young martial artist will grow. There are only 1-5 sutents in the entry level program at any one time. This allows the new maritial artist to develop a strong relationship whith the Head Instructor.
Eagle Level classes continue to build foundation and knowledge within the student but with slightly increased intensity in developing core values and skills. Eagle Level kids engage in continued practice of martial arts fundamentals, development of beginning level martial arts routines or katas, reaction training, and character growth.
After about six months of training most children progress to the Tiger Level. Tiger level classes focus on continued practice of basics while introducing intermediate technique and sparring. Classes are fun, but discipline levels increase, workouts become more intense, and children begin to experience the true potential inside themselves.
Dragon Level classes are typically achieved after the 1st year of training. Dragon level continues to perfect the student's core martial arts training while introducing advanced martial arts concepts. Sparring classes are regular, discipline and structure are understood, and students begin to mature in their self-defense and physical skills. This is one of the most difficult stages in a young martial artist's journey. At this point, martial arts is no longer new. To achieve the excellence needed to achieve a Junior Black Belt, the student will develop personal discipline and goal setting skills to work through their peaks and valleys to always achieve a higher peak. This is also where the student's parents have the greatest role in their training. Success requires the "stick to it," "never give up" attitudes that instructors teach but only parents can instill. Successful support from parents yields successful results from their children.
Roughly two years into a child's martial arts training, she/he will achieve the Samuri level of training. Samuri classes focus on perfecting all skills, techniques, and attitudes. The Samuri kids class have one goal in mind: the Junior Black Belt. Kids in the Samuri class have obtained great knowledge of their bodies and potential. They are excited to come to class, and are eger to progress.
When the Student has acheived a Red Belt in our program, she/he moves on to Masters Level. The Master's class is desinged to focus on the skills and states of mind the child will need to acheive Junior Black Belt. This class is designed to hone the child's abilities, internal strength, fighting skills, and knowledge of martial arts to prepare for the Junior Black Belt Test. (A three month intense training period that tests the child's, mind, body, and attitude)
A child that is a Junior Black Belt has progressed to the highest level of martial arts achievement for children. Typically a Junior Black Belt has studied martial arts for 3
